Track

The first HO gauge track was developed for the clockwork trains and resembled Hornby Dublo clockwork pre-war 2-rail track. It consisted of a lithographed base with embossed black sleepers on representative ballast.

Following the introduction of electrically powered locos a new track system consisting of pressed brass/steel rails fixed to a black plastic base which was rather like Tri-ang Standard track. The 1960 catalogue page is shown (right) 1960blacktrack.jpg (126457 bytes)

In 1960 'New Rails' were introduced which consisted of a black plastic sleeper base with drawn steel or nickel silver rails. The catalogue pages are shown 1960newrails1.jpg (93446 bytes)1960newrails.jpg (113797 bytes)

 

The range available in the mid 1970's was very extensive with double slips, curves and pointwork in three radii etc. More details will be added when time permits.
