1981 Catalogue
|
This catalogue was full of colour photos and a lot of text. More like a magazine than a list of what was available and included sections describing how to build the layout, work with the track and how to make realistic scenery. |
Several new buildings kits were introduced -
the sand and oil depot building, the sawmill and the timber
yard as well as Champagnole station (right)
Inside the front page was a very interesting picture of part of a layout complete with overhead catenary. It is thought that Jouef were contemplating introducing overhead equipment but unfortunately it never had the chance before yet another buy-out. The only new steam loco was a red version of the Boer 0-6-0 tank loco (left). The electric BB6505 was introduced and the catalogue included the TGV. A new DMU in blue was included and the coaching stock was enlarged by the addition of a 2nd class couchette coach in blue and cream |
The wagons had a new Simotra bogie hopper wagon but
the rest consisted of re-liveried wagons. A LWB flat wagon with CNC
containers, a Renault 4 wheel van, a Kronenbourg LWB bogie
van (below right), Marcel Millet, Cadbury and Pechiney St Gobain bogie
tankers and an Alsacienne bogie hopper.
The number and range of other models such as the tank wagons were much reduced. There were two pages devoted to N gauge models but only in an article - perhaps Jouef were contemplating branching out into N gauge. There were no train sets at all featured in the catalogue but the rear inside page referred to them. They were divided into four ranges for the very young (3-6) the young (5+) the older children (up to 12+) then the collectors items (9 to 97). |
