By 1978 the direction of Jouef had changed and there
were some exciting new scale model items introduced.
The locomotives were now being promoted as models
with variations. The 2-8-0 came with two
different tenders as did the 231K
class Pacific. A new scale version of the old favourite 231C was introduced and
a totally new locomotive was a 2-10-0 in 3 variations, French, German and
Belgian (left).
Different liveries were apparent in the electric
locos too and the 4mm scale BR class 40 diesel loco was available in green
and blue (right). A number of different liveried 0-6-0 shunting locos were also
available.
The coaching stock had expanded to include examples
from a number of countries. SNCF coaches included modern types such
as 'Grand Confort', UIC day coaches and sleepers, TEE coaches, aluminium
bodied coaches, as well as DB, Swiss and specials such as TEN coaches. BR
was also represented with three Mk3 coaches in 4mm.
Older coaches were represented too, including PLM
mainline and SNCF suburban items.
