1978-79 Catalogue

By 1978 the direction of Jouef had changed and there were some exciting new scale model items introduced. 

The locomotives were now being promoted as models with variations. The 2-8-0 came with two Belgian 2-10-0 different tenders as did the 231K class Pacific. A new scale version of the old favourite 231C was introduced and a totally new locomotive was a 2-10-0 in 3 variations, French, German and Belgian (left). 

Class 40 in blueDifferent liveries were apparent in the electric locos too and the 4mm scale BR class 40 diesel loco was available in green and blue (right). A number of different liveried 0-6-0 shunting locos were also available.

The coaching stock had expanded to include examples from a number of countries. SNCF coaches included modern types such as 'Grand Confort', UIC day coaches and sleepers, TEE coaches, aluminium bodied coaches, as well as DB, Swiss and specials such as TEN coaches. BR was also represented with three Mk3 coaches in 4mm.

Older coaches were represented too, including PLM mainline and SNCF suburban  items.

The range of wagons was added to in the shape of bulk open bogie wagon and a bogie Esso tanker. The sheeted long wheelbase bogie flat now came in the unloading position with the sheet half open to reveal a load of paper rolls.
In the accessories department a steel arch span bridge, water column and yard crane were joined by a splendid roundhouse and turntable. A new tunnel and footbridge also appeared as did a wide range of pre-assembled station buildings.

The range of building kits also expanded.
