A brief history of the 141P locomotive

(Translated from the French)

Undoubtedly, the basic value of a model is the accuracy of the original moulds, which may allow the manufacturer to  re-issue variations of the original from time to time.

Jouef's prestigious 141P locomotive is an example. When first released as cat No:8269, in 1975, it was without doubt an exquisite and beautiful model.  However it only had  a limited success at the time and it had disappeared quickly from the catalogue by 1983.

In 1983 CEJl re-issued it, improving its mechanism and fitting it with weathered wheels. After only a few years it was however eclipsed again, before being re-introduced by Rivarossi at the end of 1997.

Without being completely modified, the new model (available in two liveries) benefited from certain improvements to its lettering, its packaging and in a new motor. No less than 73 parts were included in the box for the scale modeller to super-detail the locomotive.

Finally, also in 1997, the locomotive was available with new a type 34P tender, to replace the type 36P.
